Theresa is a very special human who has dedicated most of her life to serving her local community and beyond. Theresa (Terri) is deeply involved with a local food pantry, D300 Food Pantry, volunteering hours and hours of her time not only working food distributions but also coordinating community outreach for hundreds of families making sure they have warm coats, clothing, holiday gifts, access to resources, and more. Additionally, Terri is a board member and active volunteer with Sandy's Stocking doing everything from assisting with fundraising to wearing the elf costume at various events. Furthermore, Terri takes her mindset of contributing to the greater good outside her local area. She spends multiple weeks each year in Roatan, Honduras, a very impoverished area, teaching children how to sew so they can use that skill to help provide for their families. These things exemplify what Terri is up to currently; we know that she has spent her entire life cultivating whatever joy and goodness she can within marginalized communities through her selfless giving of time and compassion.  

•  Applicants must be graduating from high school in 2025 OR have graduated before 2025. 
• Applicants must live in Kane or McHenry County (Illinois).
• Applicants must be seeking this award to be utilized in some sort of upcoming educational endeavor. This includes trade schools, specialized training, all levels of collegiate level coursework, or professional development opportunities. 
• To be clear, there is no maximum age for this scholarship. We encourage anyone who is seeking to better themselves through further education/training to apply, regardless of where they are on their career journey. 

•  We will award TWO Scholarships with a value of $500 each to two applicants. 
• Application must be completed in full and submitted no later than Monday, March 31, 2025. 
• Applicants will receive an e-mail acknowledgement of application received by Tuesday, April 1, 2025. 
• Sandy's Stocking Scholarship Committee Chair, Livia LaMarca, will notify all applicants with final decisions no later than the week of April 28th.
